Growing up, I thought I wanted to be a lawyer and then eventually a judge. My interests have changed drastically since then, but I also had a huge change in my academic journey. As a junior in high school, I enrolled in Running Start with the goal to graduate from high school and, at the same time, have an Associate Degree. I was a pretty good student overall, mainly ending classes with A’s and B’s. I graduated from high school one class away from obtaining my Associate’s Degree and was very proud, as I am the first in my family to go to college. I then transferred to Eastern Washington University, and the stereotypical “college life” ended up getting the best of me. Unfortunately, I flunked out of school and received an email asking me not to return for the Fall. This was in 2018, and I lived believing there was not going to be another opportunity to rewrite my academic journey. In 2020, I got married, and in April of 2024, I had my son. After having him, I felt a desire to finish my degree.
Long story short, I applied to Liberty University while holding my 2-month-old baby, and am now on track to graduate this December! Not only that, but I have a 4.0 GPA. All glory be to God!
